In the second semi-final match France edged out reigning champions Spain (61-56) with Lucie Bouthors coming off the bench to score a team-high 15 points and Bourges Basket youth player Carine Paul with 12 points. Mondeville's point guard Ingrid Tanqueray, who secured victory from the charity stripe, took 11 rebounds and contributed 8 points. France will meet unbeaten Russia in the final who have won in the first semi-final match against Serbia (49-47). In the other matches played on this day the results are as follows: Belgium and Greece are relegated from Division A and will be replaced by Division B finalists Sweden and Poland. Sweden cruised past Hungary (94-62) while Poland held off the Slovak Republic (60-41).
