Foreign women basketball players enjoy the experiance in Aix-en-Provence

This is a continuation of our series about women playing basketball in France in the Ligue Féminine de basketball. Now it is the turn of Ines Kresovic and Liad Suez-Karni from Aix-en-Provence to talk about their experience.
Both players were in action for their countries during EuroBasket Women 2007 in Chieti, Italy.
Kresovic has just turned 24 in February. She is a Serbian international. Since leaving Serbia to pursue her professional career abroad she was playing in Italy and Turkey. This is her first time in France.
Kresovic explained that she has been in France for four months. Beforehand she played in Italy. She went on to say that the French league is stronger than the Italian one. In France they practise much more here and they play better defence. As she lives close to Marseille she has the opportunity to meet her friends. It helps her to relax when off-court.
The season has been difficult but things are getting better and she hopes that they can win five or six more games before the end of the regular season. She is also looking forward to the French Cup clash with Bourges. They knocked out USVO in the previous round.

Kresvic also has a message in Serbian for the young basketball players in her country. She basically said that they should continue to practice and work hard so that they will also have the chance to come and play in France like herself and her international team mates in the other clubs.
Suez-Karni is in her second season in France. She played in Poland with Wisla Can-Pak at the start of last season (2006-2007) and gained EuroLeague Women experience with them before joining Nice in December. At the beginning of this season she joined Aix-en-Provence.
She believes the league is the most competitive. Every week is exciting as all the teams come out ready to play no matter their league position and you’ll never know who will win. She continued that, compared to other places, they play team basketball in France and she is really enjoying the French experience.
