Olivia Epoupa is the wbbif young player of the month for December. She edged out November winner Emma Meesseman and 2012 Ligue Féminine de Basketball young player of the year Sara Chevaugeon.
During the month of December Epoupa played in all four LFB matches scoring a total of 56 points, while her team won 2 and lost 2 games.
She also dished out 11 assists while picking up 9 steals and 26 rebounds (7 offensive). However the one statistic that stands out is the number of fouls drawn that is she was fouled on 18 times.
Epoupa's best game so far this season came on the 16 December 2012 when she scored 28 points in her team's victory against Toulouse.
With nine other players, Epoupa is nominated for FIBA Europe's young player 2012 award.
Epoupa follows team-mate, Valériane Ayayi as a winner of the wbbif young player of the month award.
Epoupa is in her first season as a professional basketball player. Her career started at Paris Basket 18 in 2005. By 2007 she had become one of the best young players in Paris and was admitted to the Pôle Espoir Île de France.
She continued to develop her skills that even before taking her place with the CFBB in 2009 she played for France U16.
In her five competitions for France, she has picked up 5 medals and 2 MVP awards:
In the following video with Epoupa you can see her in the first part as a 14-year old. We would like to thank Paris Basket 18 for the images. The second part of the video is extracts from an interview she did for Basket Landes at the start of this season.
