Armentières notch up their seventh consecutive victory as they overcome Limoges (74-58). Armentières, playing in their new kit, dominated the boards 44:24 but had to wait until the third quarter before getting the better of their opponents. Sandrine Capelle finished with a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners.
Rezé-Nantes notched up their fifth victory in a row (76-58) against Marseille and now move two games clear at the top of the table.
Charleville fell at home to Basket Landes (68-66). Basket Landes trailed for most of the match but walked away with the victory after a 10-2 finish in the closing stage of the match. Both teams are on identical records with Armentières 13-5 and occupy positions 2 thru 4 based on point average.
Dunkerque keep their play-off challenge alive with a road win against Lot et Garonne UST (87-73).
The match of the weekend in NF1 was between Avenir de Rennes and Nice. After an equal first quarter (17-17) Nice took command of the game and went into the interval with a 14-point advantage (48-34).
Rennes, more aggressive after the break to delight of the home fans, tied the game as they regained the lead before allowing Nice to tie the game (61-61) by the end of third period.
The final quarter was end-to-end basketball with Rennes holding out (89-86). Belgium international, Dana Boonen, (left) top scored with 26 points for Rennes and was joined in the scoring charts by Céline Fromholz with 22 points. Aline Slabecka scored 24 points for Nice.
In the remaining matches Strasbourg beat CFBB (80-66). La Roche ended Lyon’s winning streak (65-62) and Pleyber-Christ surprised Voiron (87-80).
