The CFBB are the only side without a victory in the NF1 basketball league this season. They are actually the French Basketball Academy with some of the best youth players in France.
Their preparation this season has been hampered with injuries to key players and they have not been able to play their strongest roster. Things should change in the next couple of weeks as the players return.
The CFBB travelled to Ifs for their last match and came out second best (70-58) in a match that was played two days earlier than the rest of the matches.
Ifs, who were also looking for their first victory of the season, took advantage of the youthful exuberance of their opponents to win.
Ifs was led with 18 points by Julie Villain with 18 points.
The CFBB turned the ball over 25 times during the match. But it was their insistence of shooting from beyond the arc instead of using other opportunities that allowed the game to go to the hosts.
Diandra Tchatchouang, who is back from injury, led the scoring for the CFBB with 20 points and also dished out 7 assists.
Illkirch-Graffenstaden's perfect start to the season came to an end as they were beaten (75-52) by Armentières.
Graffenstaden have always had problems with teams from the north of France. Yet they appeared to have put that all behind them as they dominated the first five minutes of the match to lead (13-9).
Armentières, playing at home, managed to pull themselves back into the game. The teams were level (16-16) by the end of the first period.
Then they traded basket for basket for the first four minutes of the second period (23-23) before Perrine Demet set the hosts off on a 7-0 run.
This burst allowed the hosts to go into the interval leading (35-31).
Armentières were a different side in the third period and blew away their guests 24-10 with Virginie Bremont scoring 11 points and the duo of Rachel Coumba and Anne-Charlotte Quicque dominating the boards.
The last quarter was just a formality. With this loss last week's leader Illkirch-Graffenstaden drop to 7th place.
Toulouse bounced back from their defeat last weekend with a comprehensive victory against Colomiers (85-56) with Nadia Peruch scoring 22 points.
Strasbourg ABC, with their coach back after a match suspension, got back to winning ways (78-62) against Dunkerque.
Dunkerque trailed by as many as 16 points during the first half of the match before reducing their deficit to 10 points at the interval (33-43).
Dunkerque continued to chase the game. With six minutes remaining they trailed by only 5 points (61-66). The game went to the wire as Strasbourg ABC held on as Charlène Savage/b> hit two free-throws.
US Laveyron lost at home (73-74) to Avenir Rennes. Nadja Morgan finished the match with 20 points for the winners in an epic battle.
The remaning NF1 basketball news are that Limoges beat Nice (74-63) while Voiron lost at home to Charleville Mézières(77-89).
Roche Vendée went top of the league after beating Pleyber-Christ (96-85).
