Finishing 8th in the Ligue Féminine de Basketball last season and losing in the final of the "Coupe de France" meant that USO Mondeville were eliminated from European basketball for 2011-2012. However FIBA Europe offered the club a wild card for EuroCup play which the FFBB approved. So in the end the season of near misses had a happy end for the senior team. Des informations en français sur Union Sportive Ouvrière Mondeville Basket se trouvent en bas du page. The following players all left the club at the end of season: Valeriya Berezhynska (Charleville-Mézières - LFB), Aurélie Bonnan (Nantes-Rezé - LFB), Esther Niamké-Moisan (NAIA), Anne-Sophie Pagnier (Charleville-Mézières - LFB), Yacine Séné (Charleville-Mézières - LFB), Pauline Thizy (Perpignan - LF2) and Lenae Williams (Nantes-Rezé - LFB). USO Mondeville's youth programme is considered to be the best in France. Their cadettes were the champions of France again and the junior team (under 20) became the first winners in the new "espoir" category. Three players from these youth teams have been promoted to the first team this season: Awa Sissoko, Marie Mbuyamba and Margaux Touraud. Touty Gandega (in picture) who has been a member of the first team for three years still played with the U20 team last season with Esther Niamké-Moisan (a.k.a Monny Niamke). Niamke-Moisan had signed for NCAA powerhouse Louisville Cardinals but due to not meeting NCAA requirements she is now attending Lindsey Wilson College and will play NAIA basketball. K. B. Sharp joins Gandega as the only player coming back for the new season. The new signings are: Ingrid Tanqueray (Villeneuve d'Ascq - LFB), Eglė Šulčiūtė (Celta Vigo - Spain), Kadidia Minte (Rennes - LF2), Laëtitia Kamba (Union Hainaut - LFB), Giedre Paugaite (VICI Aistes Kaunas), Naignouma Coulibaly (Pleyber-Christ - LF2). With just two players over the age of 25, USO Mondeville LFB roster is younger than most of the teams in the division this season.
