Roche Vendée (RVBC) have been the most consistent team in Ligue Féminine 2 over the last three seasons with two final four appearances. However before the end of last season, the club announced that the contract for coach Matthieu Chauvet would not be renewed for 2011-2012. Informations sur Roche Vendée Basket Club en français en bas du page Patrick Bouron, the president of Roche Vendée, did not give a reason for not keeping Chauvet but explained that the club's ambition for the second team - which consists mainly of players from their academy - was just as important as the success for the first team in LF2. The three youth players under 23 that were recruited by Chauvet last season all decided to move to other clubs: Tracy Albicy went to Union Hainaut in the LFB, Hélèna Ciak (Perpignan) and Maty N'Doye (Rennes) moved to clubs in LF2. Mylène Balat who captained the team for the last three years decided to hang up her basketball shoes while veteran Elodie Demortier stepped down a couple of divisions to play at St Laurent du Var in NF2. The new players are: Alexia Kusion (left) (Charleville-Mézières - LFB), Baléta Mukoko (La Garnache - NF1), Johanna Tayeau (Limoges ABC - LF2), Cora Duval (Armentières - LF2), Nadja Morgan (Voiron - LF2). The new coach is Emmanuel Body after initially Guillaume Rassineux had accepted the job but then declined later. With five players returning: Stéphanie Dufour, Elodie Gérard, Sylvaine Grellier, Gabriela Kubatova and Christelle Morel Body has ten players for the season.
