Astan Dabo breaks out at last

Perpignan Basket have qualified for the Ligue Féminine 2 Final Four after beating the CFBB (66-54). However the story of the weekend belongs to Astan Dabo who fired in 28 points and collected 23 rebounds for Reims.

With just six rounds of games remaining the battle to avoid relegation is heating up as relegation candidates picked up wins.

Perpignan Basket's first objective of the season has been achieved by booking their place in the end of season L2F Final Four. They beat the CFBB (66-54) with 18 points coming from Laina Badiane while Assitan Koné fired in 22 points for the CFBB.

Perpignan are just three wins away from achieving their second objective of the season by winning the regular season title.

At the moment Illkirch-Graffenstaden are on a 9-game losing streak and now find themselves in the relegation zone.

Iva Grbas showed her skill from beyond the arc with 3-of-4 for her 18 points. The SIG went 10-of-30 from beyond the arc but with just two key players they did not have the energy to stop Astan.

However Louise Dambach, another product from the SIG academy, showed a lot of promise with her 15 points in defeat. The rest of the news from Ligue Féminine 2

In the race for the Final Four, Toulouse have almost clinched a place after beating Armentières (77-56). This is the second time they have beaten Armentières this season.

Agathe Degorces and Nina Bogicevic with 20 and 17 points each were the driving forces towards the victory.

COB Calais got back to winning ways by knocking off Roche Vendée (75-63). Manon Sinico (5 assists) and Mélanie Devaux both had 16 points each. Devaux was 4-from-6 from three-point territory.

With this victory Calais remain in third place and are looking good for the post season final.

US Laveyron remain in 4th place despite falling on the road to Limoges ABC (69-89). Voiron, currently in sixth place, also lost on the road to a team in the relegation zone Le Havre (60-66).

The defeats of US Laveyron, Armentières, Voiron and Roche Vendée this weekend contributed to Perpignan Basket qualifying for the Final Four so early.

Léon Trégor, currently lying in the second relegation position, kept their hopes alive of avoiding the drop by beating Dunkerque Malo (93-73).

Léeon Trégor made the break in the first quarter (30-18) and stayed in control the rest of the way. Oumou Kalsoum Toure (13 rebounds) and Adriana Gresnerova with 26 and 23 points apiece provided the offensive power for the victory.
