The Flammes Carolos hosted their first LFB-TV match and came away with the victory (78-62) against Aix-en-Provence. Charleville-Mézières who were averaging around 56 points per game before this encounter had an excellent first 20 minutes in which they scored 48 points.

Yacine Séné was appointed as the new captain for Charleville-Mézières during the week. She led as an example on the court with an excellent first quarter in which she scored 8 points.
Aix-en-Provence's trouble started early with Tamara Abalde picking up 2 quick fouls. Liene Jansone was also to join Abalde on the bench with 2 first-quarter fouls.
In the meantime, with Séné and Zoi Dimitrakou (in picture) leading the way the hosts finished with a 7-0 run to lead (27-16) by the end of the first quarter.
The players of Aix-en-Provence continued to pick up fouls while Charleville with an impressive 15-from-23 shots from open play as well as 15-from-18 free throws went into the locker room leading (48-28).
Aix-en-Provence stepped up defensively after the break while managing to reduce their deficit by 5 points. However Djéné Diawara stepped up for the hosts and helped to restore the 20-point advantage (62-42).
The final quarter was up and down basketball. Aix-en-Provence managed to reduce their deficit into single figures (60-69) with four minutes to play.
Yet this was as close as Aix-en-Provence was to get as another player, Cindy Lima also fouled out during the closing minutes.

Les Flammes Carolos profitent à nouveau de jouer à domicile pour s'imposer contre Aix-en-Provence (78-62). Après trois défaites consécutives, l'instinct de survie et surtout une bonne adresse (65%) et son jeu collectif surprend son adversaire. Les Carolomacériennes creusent l'écart dès le premier quart (27-16, 10e), emmenées par leur nouvelle capitaine Séné qui termine avec 8 points dans les 10 premières minutes.
Jusqu'à la mi-temps, les Flammes continuent avec une défense intransigeante et en même temps restent vigiles en offense pour prendre une avance de 20 points.
Pourtant les provençales n’abandonnent pas et sous l'impulsion de Jansone regagnent du terrain. Mais Diawara relance la machine de son équipe (62-42, 30e). Puis Charleville souffre d'un relâchement dans son intensité pour que les Aixoises puissent revenir à 9 longueurs au moment du money-time.
Mais les partenaires de Amel Bouderra remettent leurs bretelles pour remporter une quatrième victoire dont le score est beaucoup plus élevé que d'habitude.
Maintenant la formation de Yernaux peut se préparer à sa prochaine rencontre en se déplaçant à Bourges, champion de France en titre, samedi prochain.
