The LFB regular season was a 26-match programme involving 14 teams for 2009-2010.
For the teams that finished in the last two positions, the season is over.
Limoges ABC finished in last place and set a new record in the Ligue Féminine de BasketBall as the first to finish the whole season without a victory.
The second club to miss out are the 2008-2009 NF1 champions Armentières who finished in 13th place.
Under the rules of the Ligue Féminine de BasketBall both clubs will be relegated from the division for next season.
However we have to wait for confirmation from the FFBB on their relegation.
Last season Nantes-Rezé were reinstated in the LFB despite finishing last because Reims and UHB-SA were relegated due to financial difficulties.
In 2007-2008 season a change was made to the play-off system and only the top 4 teams at the end of the regular season can contest for the title of the French Championship.
Although France does not have the right to present four teams in EuroLeague Women basketball competition any more the reasons for the continuing with this format stills remain valid: The winner of the Challenge Round is assured a place in the EuroCup Women competition.
Neither team is playing in the Challenge Round this season because they have qualified for the championship play-offs this time around.

It is possible for the teams to be tied at the end of the first game as overtime will not be played.

LFB-TV will stream only the last game of the competition.
The brackets for this competition are as follows.
