However they were in for a disappointing evening as Tarbes faulted during the second half of the match.
Nantes continued from where they left off in game one with a (10-2) start. But Tarbes recovered to finish the first quarter on level terms (14-14).
The two teams traded scores all through the second quarter with Tarbes holding the advantage (29-28).
Nantes-Rezé used a 9-0 run at the end of the third quarter to finally take command of the game (48-42). Nantes stayed in front the rest of the way to win the match (66-54) and the series 2-0.
Johanne Gomis (in picture) and Sarah Michel both scored 15 points for Nantes-Rezé while Caroline Aubert added 14 points.
For Tarbes Paoline Salagnac and Maja Miljkovic scored 13 and 11 points each in defeat.
This victory means for Nantes-Rezé that they have qualified for the 2013 EuroCup Women competition, while Tarbes will have to wait to know if they will play in Europe next season.
Hainaut Basket have to thank Amisha Carter
Amisha Carter (in picture) was everywhere for Hainaut Basket. She scored 33 points, picked up 10 defensive rebounds in her total of 11 rebounds while also drawing 10 fouls to complete her triple double.
In addition she also blocked 3 shots and came away with 2 steals.
No other player in her team scored more than 7 points in the (60-54) victory against Basket Landes.
For Basket Landes French international Marion Laborde was the top scorer with 17 points while her team-mate Katarina Manic (6 assists) was the only other player to finish with a double-digit score with 13 points.
