France need one more win to book their ticket for the Fiba Europe European Championship semi-finals after beating Ukraine (80-66).
Diandra Tchatchouang led the French attack with 16 points and 3 blocks while for the Ukraine LFB player Olesia Malachenko top-scored with 22 points.
However the surprise result of the day in Group E was the victory of the Netherlands against Russia (74-53) with Maaike Klein pouring in 25 points for the winning team.
The hosts Latvia powered their way past Poland (63-49) with Sabine Niedola and Kristine Vitola scoring 45 of the team's points.

In Group F Lithuania defeated Serbia (63-57) while Turkey won against Italy (67-58). Turkey stormed to victory in the last seven minutes outscoring their opponents 13-2 with Yasemen Saylar contributing 21 points.
Spain won comfortably against Belarus (91-69) with Marta Xargay compiling a double-double of 18 points and 14 rebounds.
In the relegation group Romania beat Bulgaria (80-51) while Germany got past Sweden (84-57).
