Denmark and Slovenia have to remain in the FIBA Europe division B group for U16 women next season after finishing both in fifth place in group E and F respectively at the end of the qualification round. Slovenia became one of the big losers of the day as they have been eliminated in a three-way tie with Latvia and Ukraine. Portugal beat Slovenia (60-52) and were thankful for a 7-0 blitz by Laura Ferreira in the closing minutes that set up the victory. Latvia qualified despite falling to already eliminated Estonia (59-62). In Group F Germany remain unbeaten and secured the top position by beating Lithuania (62-51). Germany only pulled away during the final quarter with a 11-1 run that made more or less the game save (57-46) with two minutes to play. Emma Stach was the leading scorer for Germany with 17 points. Bulgaria beat Denmark (67-57) and as a result picked up the third spot. Bulgaria broke clear with a 9-0 run at the start of the final quarter. Borislava Hristova was the leading scorer for Bulgaria with 21 points while Sofie Preetzmann had a double-double for Denmark with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Romania beat Switzerland (55-44) to qualify ahead of Denmark in another three-way tie with Bulgaria. Simina Laura Avram was the leading player for Romania with 15 points and 9 rebounds. In the only classification game of the day Luxembourg beat Ireland (70-54). Mia Pauly and Jessy Goergen had identical numbers in their double-double performance with 14 points and 12 rebounds for Luxembourg. Allison Mcgrath was the leading scorer for Ireland with 13 points. Ireland are still without a victory.
