With the exception of Basket Landes, the final EuroCup Women group games had nothing at stake for the French clubs. Already qualified for the next phase Lattes Montpellier, Nantes-Rezé, Tarbes and Union Hainaut were playing just for improving their seeding for the Eighth Finals draw.
Lattes Montpellier had a light assignment against Danish side SISU Basket and won easily (79-44).
Emilie Gomis (8 assists and 6 points) was given an extended run in this game, playing 33 minutes while Ana Lelas had some shooting practice with a game high 22 points.
However the story of the night belonged to Ana Cata-Chitiga who scored 12 points and picked up 11 rebounds in 18 minutes.
For SISU Maria Malone did her best with 16 points, while for Ida Tryggedsson it was a return to France. She played in LF2 last season (2011-12) with Le Havre.
SISU Basket who are in their second season of EuroCup Women have done a lot to bring Danish women's basketball back into the limelight. Hopefully they will return next season deispite not winning a game.
When it comes to playing teams from Belgium this season in the EuroCup Women competition, the LFB teams have always come out on top. Joyce Cousseins-Smith (in picture) made sure that Tarbes had a road victory against Belfius Namur (77-59). She scored 17 points (7-from-10 shots) but had to leave the scoring award to her team-mate Jovana Rad who had 18 points.
Union Hainaut were also in Belgium this week. After a slow start they had no problem in seeing off Lotto Young Cats in a high scoring game (100-77).
Yet again Amanda Jackson led the attack with 28 points while Vera Perostiyska had 22 and Stefanie Murphy chipped in 19 points.
Nantes-Rezé completed the grand slam with another comfortable victory against BBC Sint-Katelijne-Waver (80-59).
MBK Ruzomberok continued the Group H tradition of winning on the road as they beat Antakya (77-65). MBK's margin of victory was enough for them to pick up the last place in the Eighth-Final draw.
In the match of the evening Tatsiana Likhtarovich saved BC Horizont from elimination with a lay-up during the closing seconds to beat Tekge Basket (65-64).
At the end of the first phase Jolene Anderson finished on top of the scoring charts with an average of 24 points per game. In second place is Greek international Evanthia Maltsi with 23.8 points.
