For most of the top seeds in the EuroCup Women sixteenth-final the first leg went according to plan with victories.
However for Villeneuve d'Ascq, it was an evening to forget as they lost (52-64) to Jolly JBS Euroline.
Olayinka Sanni (left) managed just 20 minutes in the match before fouling out which made things more difficult for Abdou N'Diaye and his limited roster.
With Elodie Bertal and Laurie Datchy injured and Sanni in foul problems, Villeneuve played most of the game with just five players.
Petra Stampalija, who played in the French league between 2002-2005, led the Jolly attack with 16 points while Julie Page scored 15 points for Villeneuve d'Ascq.
Arras and Nantes-Rezé, the two other French clubs in the competition, won their respective games by 30 and 25 points each and already have one foot in the next round.
