Another successful evening in EuroCup Women action for French clubsThe EuroCup Women has been good for the three clubs from the LFB. All of them finished on top of their groups.
Olayinka Sanni scored 28 points and pulled down 14 rebounds while Marjorie Carpréaux came up with 7 steals and 3 assists for Villeneuve. Lotto Young cats, led by Emma Meesseman with 21 points, have also qualified for the next phase. Nantes-Rezé thrashed Saarlouis Royals (88-55) to secure the group win. Despite the defeat the Royals will still qualify. Mélanie Plust led the French attack with 19 points. Arras were made to work hard by Dexia Namur in a low scoring game (56-50). Johanne Gomis finished with 14 points. Despite not winning a single game Dexia may still qualify for the next round of the competition. Elsewhere in the EuroCup, Dynamo Kursk won their two-game mini series against Jolly JBS Euroline (66-59) while Dynamo Moscow smashed Petrolina AEK (105-50). Gran Canaria completed a miserable night for Belgium clubs by beating BBC Sint-Katelijne-Waver (79-72) while Ruzomberok beat the already eliminated Olivais Coimbra (75-54). The rest of the games will be played on Thursday evening. The troubles of Villeneuve d'Ascq in the LFB are forgotten in this competition. They completed the clean sweep of their group by beating Lotto Young Cats (65-52).
