2012 -2013 Ligue Féminine 2
For the third season of LF2 Basketball only 12 teams have been registered to participate. Unfortunately Etoile de Voiron were unable to secure the financial backing and were forced to withdraw from LF2 Basketball while SO Armentiéres pulled out two days before the start of the season.

AL Aplemont Le Havre was offered the possibility of staying in the Ligue Féminine 2 despite being relegated for the second consecutive season. But the club refused to take the place of Voiron.
All this combined with the disappearance of Challes-les-Eaux and the non-participation by Armentières is why this season only 12 clubs play second division basketball.
The regular season tips off on Saturday, 29 September 2012 and comes to an end on Saturday, 27 April 2013.
The post season between the top four teams, known as the LF2 final four, is hosted by the winner of the regular season during the weekend of the 11 - 12 May 2013.

La trosième saison de
la Ligue Féminine 2
La Ligue Féminine 2, la LF2 ou L2F entame leur troisième édition. Pourtant au lieu de 14 formations dans cette compétition comme l'année précédente, il y a que 12! En premier, l'Étoile de Voiron a été obligée de se retirer à cause d'un budget insuffisant suivi par SO Armentières déclarant faillite deux jours dans la saison 2012-13.
Après que Voiron s'est retiré, AL Aplement le Havre a été donc repêché mais le club a refusé de remonter. Et après la disparition de Challes-les-Eaux et l'abandon de Armentières, la saison en L2F s'annonce qu'avec 12 clubs.
Donc probablement, à la fin de la saison régulière aucune équipe va être reléguée en Nationale féminine 1.
La saison régulière débute samedi, le 29 septembre 2011 et prend fin samedi, le 27 avril 2013.
Le LF2 final 4 (finale à 4) pour le titre "Champion de France LF2", se déroulant le 11 et 12 mai 2013, est disputé entre les quatre meilleures équipes de la saison régulière dont la première classée accueille la finale. Celle-ci est déjà qualifiée pour acceder en ligue féminine de basket.
